Terms of Service
Last updated 2 August 2026
Read this part if you read nothing else. Harry is software, not a person and not a licensed therapist. He cannot diagnose you, cannot treat you, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. He is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Therapist Harry (the "Service"), delivered over WhatsApp and at therapistharry.com. By messaging Harry you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
Harry is an automated conversational agent, powered by a large language model, designed to help couples talk through relationship difficulties. Every reply is generated by software. There is no human reading your messages as part of normal operation.
3. What the Service is not
- Not therapy. Harry is not a licensed therapist, counsellor, psychologist, or physician, and using the Service does not create a therapist–client relationship.
- Not medical advice. Nothing Harry says is a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for professional advice. Never disregard professional guidance, or delay seeking it, because of something Harry said.
- Not confidential in the legal sense. Your conversations are not protected by therapist–patient privilege and are not medical records.
- Not an emergency service. Harry cannot summon help, cannot call anyone on your behalf, and cannot monitor your messages for danger in real time.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these terms. Do not use the Service on behalf of anyone else.
5. Both partners must consent
Harry works with a couple, and both partners can see his replies. By connecting a second person to a session you confirm that they have agreed to take part and to these terms. Do not add someone to a session without their knowledge or against their wishes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, coerce, monitor, or control another person.
- Impersonate anyone, or share another person's private information without consent.
- Obtain instructions for harming yourself or anyone else.
- Break any law, or attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, without notice, if we believe it is being used this way.
7. Safety
If you tell Harry you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, that a child is at risk, or that there is violence between partners, he will say so directly and point you toward help that can physically reach you. He does so because the Service genuinely cannot keep you safe on its own. Where there is violence between partners, Harry will not facilitate a joint conversation about it.
In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. In the United States you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911.
8. Accuracy and limitations
Language models can be wrong, inconsistent, or confidently mistaken. Harry may misremember something you said, misread a situation, or give guidance that does not fit your circumstances. Use your own judgment, and do not rely on the Service for any decision of consequence.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us a limited licence to process, store, and transmit your messages solely to operate the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. That licence ends when your data is deleted.
10. Messaging charges
The Service is delivered over WhatsApp. Your carrier's data charges and WhatsApp's own terms apply to your use of it, and we do not control either.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or emotional distress, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms or of anyone's rights.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and have your data deleted — see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access at any time.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
